Motadata ServiceOps Release Version 8.7.3
Release Date: November 03, 2025
What’s New?
Automation
Smarter and Dynamic Workflow Builder for ITSM Automation
Motadata ServiceOps introduces the all-new Workflow Builder, a powerful automation engine designed to streamline ITSM operations across multiple modules. The improvements are:
Design Without Limits with Multi-Stage Workflows
The intuitive grid-based canvas now lets you design workflows with an unlimited number of stages and nodes. Easily connect Actions, Notifications, and complex Flows to visualize and manage every step of your process. Moreover, UI enhancements like zoom, undo/redo, and real-time error highlighting make designing smooth.
Automate Across All Modules with Cross-Module Functionality
Why stop at one module? Now, your workflows can seamlessly interact and automate tasks across Request, Problem, Change, Release, Asset, CMDB, User, Task, and more! Whether it’s closing related requests or updating records across different modules, the Workflow Builder makes it simple.
Intelligent Flow Control with Advanced Logic Nodes
Take your automation to the next level with powerful new logic nodes:
- If/Else & Branch Nodes: Create dynamic decision trees to execute different actions based on specific conditions (e.g., escalate high-priority incidents, onboard employees based on role).
- Wait Node: Pause your workflow for a set duration or until a specific event occurs.
- Loop Node: Automate repetitive tasks by iterating over lists of records.
- Merge Node: Consolidate multiple parallel or conditional paths into a single flow.
Precision and Power with the Expression Builder
Define intricate conditions and dynamic values effortlessly with our new Expression Builder.
- Visual & Intuitive: Define dynamic conditions using a visual builder.
- Comprehensive Functions: Access String, Date, and Math operations.
- Flexible Operators: Build sophisticated logic with logical and comparison operators.
- Dynamic Variable Support: Insert attributes from previous nodes.
- Real-time Validation: Test expressions with instant feedback.
Expanded Actions for Event-Driven Automation
Kickstart your workflows based on a wider range of events. New Core Actions:
- Create Record: Seamlessly create records across modules.
- Archive Record: Efficiently archive records.
- Send HTTP Request (Formerly Run Webhook): Integrate with external systems using HTTP methods, dynamic URLs, and error handling. Refined Existing Actions:
- Consolidated Notifications: Unified notification action with sub-actions for Email, SMS, WhatsApp, Teams.
Flexible Scheduling for Periodic Workflows
Schedule your automations exactly when you need them with diverse schedule types: Once, Daily, Weekly, Monthly, Periodically, or custom intervals using Cron Expressions.
Dynamic Data Retrieval with ‘Get Records’
Empower your workflows to fetch specific data from any module based on defined conditions, enabling smarter, data-driven actions like assigning assets automatically.
Complete Control with Workflow Versioning
Every save or publish creates a new version of your workflow, complete with an audit trail. Easily view, restore, or delete previous versions for full control and peace of mind.
Request Management
Request Form Rule Enhancement
Administrators can now hide the Description field using the Request Form Rule.
Asset Management
Asset Movement and Purchase Order Item Limit Enhancements
Asset Movement and Purchase Orders now support adding up to 100 assets and 100 products respectively in a single transaction.
Enhanced Asset Search Functionality in the Asset Module
The Asset module now offers an enhanced global search that scans across all asset types and text-based fields for quick, accurate results. Technicians can effortlessly locate assets using multi-keyword, case-insensitive searches like ‘Dell Core i5’ — no field selection required.
RDP Option Support for HyperV Server Assets
The Remote Desktop option is now available for assets of type HyperV Server, enabling RDP access for Windows-based HyperV machines.
Miscellaneous
Support for Incoming Email Rules
Administrators can now configure Incoming Email Rules, replacing the earlier Email-to-ticket functionality in the workflow. For example, if a rule is set with the subject containing ‘HR Onboarding’ and the description containing ‘HR Onboarding Request’, any incoming email matching these criteria will automatically create a Service Request for HR onboarding — without requiring workflow automation.
SSL Connection Support between Application and Database
Introduced support for SSL-based communication between the Application and Database servers to enhance data security and encryption during transmission. This ensures secure connectivity across all deployment environments.
Two Factor Authentication Enhancements
Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) can be applied to All Users, Only Requesters, or Only Technicians, and can be excluded for specific users based on user selection.
